An extension of my Tempozan walk, catching the Chuo metro line from Osakako to Bentencho, passing by an interesting park, and then transferring to the loop line as far as Shin-Imamiya. Last visit I walked through the Shinsekai district in the early morning, before much had opened, so this time I wanted to experience it thrumming with visitors.
Still early in the day, I first wanted to walk some more of the back streets, instead of the tourist spots, and found myself at the Kitchenware Street covered mall, before continuing back into the thick of it at the canal district.
Night time is when the hot spots really fill up, so early afternoon seems a good opportunity to get a feeling for the buzz, but without being quite as overwhelming.
