In this video, I take you along with me into the backcountry of Los Padres National Forest. I had never hiked this trail before and didn’t know what to expect. The trail was closed beyond 19 Oaks Camp for erosion and restoration, which meant I couldn’t go as far as I would have liked, but I still had a wonderful time. This 8-mile out-and-back would be a great choice for someone new to backpacking or looking to go solo backpacking for the first time.
In next week’s video, I share where I went next and you don’t want to miss it because it is one of the most epic and beautiful campsites I’ve ever stayed in.
Happy trails!
